A psychologist from the Gaza Strip who announced his intention to establish the first Palestinian Party of Love has received death threats from many Palestinians, who are accusing him of promoting "immoral" values.

Dr. Hassan Nurani, a resident of Deir al-Balah, first came to the attention of the Palestinian public earlier this year when he declared his intention to run for the elections to succeed Yasser Arafat as chairman of the Palestinian Authority.

Nurani, who founded a small party called the Movement for Justice and Freedom, was able to collect the requisite 5,000 signatures to submit his candidacy but couldn't afford the $3,000 needed to register for the election.

Oooh, I bet I could have raised $3000 for this guy!

That part of the world has a history for being rather harsh with people who preach love. Apparently there are millions of people still bitching about what happened to one guy who did that.

God to Gabrial: "Oh no, I vacationed in the Middle East two thousand years ago, and they're still blaming me for knocking up some virgin!"

However they all seem to support suicide bombers and the killing of innocent people. Irony?
