Papers, Books and Theories

Which published papers, books etc have you read that helped formulate your beliefs? The reason I ask, is that I don't have the benefit of a university education and have been wandering around the net choosing material from various sources. There's a lot of conflicting information out there. I think having a "Recommended Reading" forum might be of use to other members too. We could avoid the dross and find the data. If there's already one buried here I've missed completel - I apologise for the duplication in advance.
 
That would depend on what beliefs/theories you refer - I have an awful lot of them. Most are based on observation. For example, I believe I am a very good cook - this is based on what others have told me after polishing all I had cooked so I can't quote written sources. I believe weapons in my hand are way better than weapons in someone elses and way better than weapons in someone elses but not in mine. That is just logic - no written sources. I am an atheist - have been since 6 or 7. no written support (philosophy is fun but it's relevance to reality is limited (me being kind)) just observation and not bad logic for a 6 - 7 year old.

Are you sure your friends aren't just being kind to you? If you go around with weapons in the kitchen, perhaps they're afraid not to be suitably appreciative of your culinary expertise. :scared: Now where's that spoon?
