Michael Palin that is!

While many here love him for Monty Python (as I do), I appreciate him just as much for his varied travel series.

If you haven't seen any of them I heartily reccommend them.

I am somewhat mad at him because in one of these shows, I think it was Pole to Pole, when he got to the equator he visited a "tourist trap" where the locals demonstrated how you can locate the exact position of the equator by which direction water swirls when it drains from a bucket. They had a line painted on the ground and first they would stand a few feet north of the line and show the water draining clockwise, then they would walk a few feet south of the line and show the water draining counterclockwise.

For years I believed that this would work..........they were fun shows though (at least the ones I saw)

Actually a lot of the output post Python from all the guys shows their real talent and class. Even Cleese with his work place motivation films are worth the effort
