That's interesting. It's well thought out - for a conservative piece.

Myself I focus on the caution in the conclusion.What goes around comes around.

even if the Patriot Act is not abused by its inceptors in the present administration, could the Act be abused by subsequent governments?

I share those sentiments. If we were to throw back to the Clinton days, Janet Reno and her jackboot thugs would be knocking down every door in the country with a battering ram in the name of security.
