Just thought I'd post this as a matter of interest to all you voters.

Quote from Barach Obama:

I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful.

Do you still not realise how pointless that kind of statement is?

So you believe it is pointless to understand the life philosophy of someone running for the most powerful office on earth.

Yes, he is.

Fortunately he hasn't let it drive him frothing mad, unlike some people I could mention.

Well, I guess it is useful to know if that person's belief in fairy tales will affect his office job. Hopefully, Obama does realise that the US constitution clearly shows USA to be a secular nation, and will do his job (should he be elected) based on that.

As if it will make a difference. Aren't all of the candidates a little cookie, to varying degrees, albeit none to an insignificant degree? Only in America eh!

Of course he claims to be a devout Christian. He wants to get elected. He has to profess it louder than everyone else because of his name.

Christian tolerance won't allow someone who's a non-Christian to be elected.

I bet he's not as devout as Hickabee though.

Where does the US constitution clearly show the USA to be a secular nation. The only thing I see the constitution saying is that Congress can't make a law that creates a national religion. And it can't prevent the free exercise of religion.

This is a perfect example of your selective, intentional ignorance. Nice work remaining consistent, but it also makes you look foolish.

It makes me look foolish to understand the 1st amendment?? Why is that?

Because you don't understand the Constitution, America's system of laws, or American history. You've had it all explained to you many MANY times, and your choice to repeat the same stupid claims means that your ignorance must be willful.

Why do you hate America so much, that you have to present a delusional version of it in order to tolerate living here?

The definition of 'secular' seems to have escaped you somewhat...

Ummm....

Has anyone mentioned yet that most, if not all of the worlds leaders, for all of time, have believed in religious "fairy tales"?

TAM:)

You do, I hope, realize that Obama is what we in the smart set call a politician. Politically, he needs to tell the ignorant that he believes their fairytales so they can be contented little sheepies. We forgive him this necessity as long as he doesn't extend it to real life.

Yep, Hickabee wears his religion on his rectum for the world to see and kiss!! And some of them have.

Jeez, another guy leading the country by staring at his WWJD wristband.

Devil's Advocate: "You do realize that it's possible that Obama actually believes what he said."

Since it's unthinkable for most Americans to vote for a nonbeliever, those of us in the minority have to cope as best we can. You are making a mistake, DOC, if you assume that we are similarly intolerant and could not support a Christian in office.
