Now, THAT's a hail storm!

OMG! That's a hail of a lot of ice falling from the sky!

Ouch, That even hurt me.

That's in the part of Texas that sticks up like a thumb.
Every time ma Nature ventures by on the way to raising hell in the Midwest and East, she smacks it with a weather hammer...

Hail storm expected for today or tomorrow here in Oklahoma City. I've not checked to see if the storms are related yet. I've been hearing one long continuous rumble of thunder for over 4 minutes now off in the distance, like a jet engine. Strange. Tornados possibly too are expected.

But, as for Texas. Wowsers! It's transformed the landscape from flat grass to what looks like a crust of fractured boulders.

To answer the OP, yes, I have and no, that was no fun at all.

Ever wonder how river valleys / channels / gorges, etc get cut?

I believe the vast majority of erosion is due to storm events like this. Sure the slow and steady day to day action of water does it's part, but I bet episodic events such as this are responsible for a large fraction of the surface and subsurface geologic record.
