Noisy new optical drive on a Power Mac G5

I just replaced the Superdrive in my G5 Power Mac with a brand-new Samsung model. It works great - it's much faster than the old one, and can burn DL DVDs too. Trouble is, it's bloody noisy. When burning a disc, it sounds like an aircraft taking off. It doesn't seem to be vibrating, and is held securely in place. Can anyone suggest a possible solution?

ETA: The drive in my 4 year old iMac is starting to get a bit flaky; where'd you buy your replacement drive?

ETAA: I know that when I replaced the optical in my Xbox, there was a lot of feedback in the community as to which was the best replacement; some were faster, but noiser. Could it simply be that Samsung makes a relatively noisy drive?
