Okay, I was wrong. I said that the war in Iraq would effect a regime change in England. Apparently not. Blair has won a third term.

I am not distressed by this. I think Tony Blair is a sensable person who was forced to make a choice between the lesser of two evils. He could alianate his greatest ally, or he could do something distateful that would cause him a lot of lost popularity at home. He decided to keep the ties and suffer the backlash. I kinda have to respect that, even though I disagree with his decision to support Bush.

We live in interesting times.

It's even more interesting than that.

It seems that Kerry's campaign team was willing to go a little farther than grudging respect as evidenced by Stan Greenberg's, Zack Exley's, Bob Shrum's and Karen Hicks' efforts to see Blair reelected.

Dems in the USA: "No WAR for OIL!" "Bush LIED!"

Same dems in the UK: "Crikey! What the big bloody deal?"

Blair did lose a considerable amount of support, which may make it harder to get what he wants. But a lot of that is because Blair handled the fiasco with class. He admitted he was wrong and apologized when the final word came that there were no WMDs. But there is a similarity to the most recent US election, in that the alternatives were impalatable to most.

Why did you need to start a new thread whats wrong with the other ones?
