I was drinking my coffee and since I received an e-mail warning that Capel Dodger has replied to a thread I follow , I thought to read it because CD is a very intelligent poster, his posts match perfectly with coffee and wine.

But, the last person who has posted there ,Unique,had attached a photo of a dead( murdered) child. I guess that it's ok with the rules...

I didn't read the post to know why he did it. Well, of course I know that when people lack of arguments,they do stupid things.


Other example. Our nice friend Genghis Pawn(usually, I read his posts) is using as an avatar a pic of a very young girl who poses in a provocative way.

Are we suppose to be amused or feel even aroused by children who look like being sexually available?

Is this humour or it's the behaviour of a person who has lost control in his constant effort to appear an extremist?

Now. Since we have heard a lot of things about moderation and moderators, I won't report anything from now on.

Why?

Simple reason.

If you cant control yourself from being stupid, none , not even God, can help you.
 
I've been wondering about genghis' avatars myself. Of course, I can't say anything since the only clothing my avatar (Master Shake) is wearing is a pair of gloves.
 
I wouldn't mind if those photos depicted grown-up women but they don't.

As a citizen and a lawyer in my country, I have fought against this kind of pornography, I have also fought for the rights of the dead and the use of death by Media.

Dead people have rights too.

The point is why people can't control themselves and behave like this?

Why some people need moderators in their lives to point to them that they have crossed the edges?

Why can't they see by themselves were the limits are?

Hey Cleo, when I was zipping through your country I saw child-slaves who were forced to make thousands of bricks everyday. Some of those kids looked like they were six, maybe seven years old. When I infiltrated the area they were in, I asked one of the men at the worksite about their status and he told me they were bought--sold by their familes for gambling debts, personal slights (honor code crap), etc.

Want to start getting picky about issues like that? No problem.

Ghenghis' avatar has clothes on. Maybe it is his daughter.

The slaves I saw in your home town didn't have shoes on their feet. Since you are a lawyer, maybe you could go save them, or is your law degree restricted by Muslim law? I think it is but maybe I am wrong. I am sure you will let me know either way.

I can't believe I'm actually defending Ghengis, but I don't think the 'children' in his avatars are actually underage. Unless you have evidence to the contrary, this attack on him is in very poor taste.

Cleopatra is half Jewish/half Greekish. The reference to Cleopatra is to the time when the Greeks ran Egypt. However, I do agree, they treat the Muslim workers like second class citizens in Israel.

Yes, I don't like it when people post images with gore or signicant amounts of blood. It makes me queasy. I wish Zombified would change his avatar. It grosses me out.

Yeah, I found that strange too. Its seems like a man would want to have an avatar of a man. Avatars of women should be something only women use.

As for Martinm. The age of the person in the photo doesn't really matter. What it matters is how is presented. The aestetics of under aged porno is that I commented.

I wouldn't care if you your avatar was an undressed woman.

But this style of photographs is what the media people describe as "child-porn chic"... There is a whole culture behind the child porn chic , don't you know that?

Why you use it? Just because there is no rule against it in this forum? Can't you understand certain things by yourself ?

I don't want anybody to force you to change your avatar, I don't want anybody to force Unique to remove the photo from his posts.

If both of you think that it's ok, fine! Keep both photos.

Why you people, can't you control yourselves? Why do you need severe forum rules or moderators in order to understand certain things?

Unique, don't you know that you shouldn't post photos of dead babies just to provoke the person with whom you discuss??? :mad:

I did report it when Genghis posted the images of victims of the Saudi bombings they where removed and had links put in their place as they should have been.

I think we've indentified the woman in Genghis's av as Mena Suvari (or it could be Sylvia the psychic, the thread in which we discussed this got rather confusing).

I guess we're used to seeing young film stars in states of undress for publicity shots; but it's also intersting how, when used as an avatar it loses its context, and the more ambiguious aspects, which Cleopatra has identified, are revealed.

Recently, there was the case of a poster (apologies to her/him, I'm unable to recall their name) whose avatar looked like a typically gynaecological detailed porno shot, but was actually a cleverly edited picture of someone's hand on a (computer) mouse. Personally I found the choice of imagery used distasteful, but understood the idea that the poster was communicating with it. I don't know if there are any similar mitigating circumstances surrounding Ghengis's avatar? Although "it looks like child porno--but it isn't!" wouldn't be acceptable, because that's the point.
 
Billy. I was discussing the style of the photo which is definetely child porno chic.

Personally, I didn't mind the other avatar of GP, with the woman in the bathtub,wearing handcuffs ( at least this how it looked) because it lacked " the childish innocence" that this photo implies.

I don't care who the woman is and I think that it doesn't make any difference.

And of course there is the other bigger issue with the photo of the dead baby that Unique has posted.

As long as the photo of the baby is there, I just can't participate in the discussion.
