I sent this email as feedback to Randi, and hope he will reply to me.
Please put in a few paragraphs in your introduction to your encyclopedia on how you have chosen what topics to include and why you did not include specific topics like Buddhism.

Joking only, is it because you and/or your confreres are closet Buddhists. [Laugh here.]

And please put a search link in your online edition of the Encyclopedia; so that people can locate easily what you have said or have to say if anything at all on a topic of their curiosity, like Buddhism, even though there is no one entry devoted directly to it in your encyclopedia.

By the way, colleagues here, do we have anything in the website of JREF where Randi gives enough attention to Buddhism as befits this subject's worth in the eyes of people like Ryokan, the Resident Buddhist here, and his fellow Buddhists here.

Looking over the encyclopedia, I found two topics that deals with Buddhism.

http://www.randi.org/encyclopedia/mantra.html

http://www.randi.org/encyclopedia/karma.html

There might be more, I didn't do a thorough search.

And suggesting that he left out specific topics like Buddhism means he's a closet Buddhist is ridiculous. There's no entry on Islam either, do you think that means Mr.Randi is a closet Muslim?

Seems you owe Mr.Randi an apology.

With the level of varation in budist sects you would need rather a lot of space to even produce a summery (the article on wikipedia is 88 kilobytes long).

Isn't Buddhism a philosophy? In which case, perhaps you should have asked for an article on existentialism, too.

And there is no entry on Quakers!

(Pause for a moment while I picture Mr. Randi's face on a box of Quaker Oats...)

Okay, I'm done.

If you meet the Buddha on the road, invite him to take the $million Challenge. If he refuses, kill him! LOL

My impression - and I'm willing to be corrected - is that Randi's online encyclopaedia is 'frozen in time' from when it was last revised in print, and any new subjects should be entered into the skepticwiki.
