Currently being screened theatrically in London.

Six and a half years after the tragedy of 9/11 the psychological impact of this catastrophic event has had reverberations across the globe that still linger in modern society's mind like a bad dream.

The Elephant In The Room follows filmmaker Dean Puckett as he examines the cultural impact and paranoia that the events of 9/11 have had on British and American culture. From the 9/11 Truth Movement hoping to disseminate the evidence of the day, through the Muslim psyche in modern Britain, the film culminates in New York on the 6th anniversary, to see a nation torn apart by its Government's lies and deceit over what exactly happened on the day.

We are exposed to the silent shame of America - the 9/11 first responders, thousands of whom are suffering from respiratory illness and disease after their valiant efforts to aid in the emergency.

The Elephant In The Room allows them to tell the story that no one else will.

If you have any doubts about the film's objectivity, or lack thereof, check out the trailer.

Plus this jaw-dropper :jaw-dropp from Kevin 'Countdown' McPadden.

Gee, for a moment there, it sure seemed like the documentary was a psychoanalysis fest rather than a CT...

Actually, from looking at the trailer, it seems like another version of Loose Change with a similar soundtrack style and dashes of truth (first responder sickness) thrown in...

It really seems to be about the truth movement itself and, of course, 'evil Amerika.'

Check out the usual suspects in the film.

No movie with those people, especially Cynthia McKinney (whom, I'm sorry to say, was my representative in her first term... I even voted for her.) could be objective.

The first responder heath issue was dealt with somewhat fairly in a Sundance Channel documentary a few years ago.

The Brit's take is probably to show how uncaring we are across the pond.

We have these things called "cinemas" in the UK, not "movie theatres/ers". Theatres are where plays and musicals are shown. It not my language, murder it if you want.........

Anyway, it's a film festival.

ETA: beaten to it.

'It' is my language, too. In American usage, a 'theatrical' showing for a film means it's playing in a cinema or movie theater for a general paying audience. A film festival showing, however, would not usually be considered a theatrical showing so I was wrong on that score.

A special theatrical showing of Hayao Miyazaki's anime masterpiece PRINCESS MONONOKE will be presented on the big screen at the Japan America theater in downtown L.A.

A movie theater, movie theatre or cinema is a venue, usually a building, for viewing motion pictures ("movies" or "films").

Most movie theaters are commercial operations catering to the general public, who attend by purchasing a ticket.

Yes, but you're talking about a screening in which bit of the United States?

As an AMERICAN ENGLISH SPEAKER, I used the term 'theatrical screening' which is what we say OVER HERE.

'The Menagerie' remastered to get theatrical showing

On Tuesday, November 13th, movie theaters around the United States and Canada will offer a special showing of the remastered Star Trek episode 'The Menagerie.' While Star Trek television has appeared in theaters before (the Enterprise season 4 premiere 'Storm Front' was screened by Paramount in a Hollywood movie theater), it has never done so on this scale: 300 theaters across the US and Canada.

Blade Runner: Final Cut - Limited Theatrical Showing

Over here in the US, there is a limted theatrical showing for BR: Final Cut in various art house theaters. Though I plan buying the DVD's, does anyone know what's been included to the Final Cut.

Looks like it only has one screening.

So yeah, it's the UK's version of LC.

At least they managed to get it into one theater/cinema...which is more than LC:FC could ever attest to as far as I know.

I followed that first link and somehow ended up at the We Are Change UK homepage - morbid curiosity I think. Anyway, right at the top they trumpet their latest PR coup:

We Are Change UK - 11th of every month : BBC and Oxford St
On the 11th of March 2008 members of WeAreChangeUK took part in the international autonomous grassroots campaign 'Eleventh of Every Month Until Justice'.

And then they present this video of one moron and maybe two or three assistants making asses out of themselves, nothing more.

Great stuff. Long live We Are Change UK!!!

I chatted with Dean Puckett over YouTube a few weeks ago, briefly. Or at least, someone claiming to be him, but I think it probably is him, the director of this documentary "Elephant in the Room". This is his YouTube page:

http://youtube.com/user/dpuck

I had posted my video analyzing and debunking the Kevin McPadden claim as a video response to his video interview with Kevin. It remained as a video response for a few days, then was removed by the user. I private messaged dpuck, telling him about how Kevin McPadden was a "9/11 truther" and active, vocal critic of the Bush Administration for years, never once mentioning his now keystone piece of evidence, that he heard a countdown prior to the collapse of WTC7, and only started making this claim after "Mike the EMT" created the story about a countdown going out over the radios. He wrote back, not trying to defend Kevin's story, but simply saying that he was an objective journalist who was allowing Kevin to tell his story, and wanted the viewers to decide for themselves if his story was true or not. I then wrote back saying that if he was a truly objective journalist, he would put Kevin's story in context and include in his documentary the fact that Kevin was a truther for years before he started making this claim, and also should include the different "versions" of Kevin's story, to show how his story drastically changes every time he tells it. It was at this point that he ended the conversation.

So did "dpuck" put Kevin McPadden's claim in context, as any objective journalist would? My guess is probably not. The "silent shame of America"? What kind of objective journalism is that?

Thank you for letting us use 'your' language. We'll let you have it back when we're finished with it. :brk:

Not a single person paid them a blind bit of notice apart from Frank Skinner, who couldn't get away from them quick enough, dear god, how embarrassing.
