A major US research institution has just released details of its lengthy investigation into psychic and telekinetic phenomena, and has concluded that psi probably doesn’t exist:

This result, which conflicts with that claimed by many parapsychologists, seems unambiguous. The trial was possibly the most comprehensive, most well regulated and undoubtedly the best funded on psi phenomena to date. The study took place over a period of more than 50 years… Over 5 million people were tested for “psi” abilities, and although some exciting hits were occasionally reported, none of them could ever be reliably replicated.

Interesting study.

Ah, I remember Yahzi. You still around? Used to argue that because nobody is beating the odds in the casino this disproves PK which is simply a naive and misguided opinion, in my opinion ;) He/she seems to have been busy writing that piercing satire. I bet that an abundence of less critical sceptics reading the article will think that such a study exists :D

I would comment on the methodological errors in this study .... but not today :D

That's already been done by Loof Lirpa (l969).

Interesting that the research was conducted at Las Vegas. Doesn't JREF have it's annual meeting there? Perhaps for the next one they could organize a visit to the laboratory. I'm sure some of the members would like to participate in this important experiment.
