Welcome, all of you! Let me see - you guys heard from the forums at The Amazing Meeting 3 and decided to join the forum? Very well, indeed!

There must be some other people who have registered shortly after TAM. Lurkers anywhere? Would you care to introduce yourselves? :)

May I ask why the idea of the forum seemes appealing to you (aside from the obvious fact that you might have met some of our charming, smart and salsa-dancing members?)

(we have a "welcome" threat at "Community", but here TAM-goers are more likely to find.)

Good idea, Luciana.

During the various forumite arrangements I met several non-forumites who had somehow "infiltrated" our gatherings. Every one of them was great. I hope some of them have joined or will join this forum.

Susan, Maggi, Angela, Karen, Oren- where are you? You said you are either here already, or will join after TAM! Make yourselves known :D And welcome :)

Oh, I forgot Tquilla, she's already here! Really really nice lady, she went to the Big Shot and Roxy's with us. :)

Where's PAM??? Awesome lady! Come, Pam, we need your vitality and great smile!

Is Tquilla that tall, slim, non-forumite blond that joined us for the Big Shot?

No, that was Pam. I asked her about the forum, and she said she didn't think she had time for it. She works from home and was afraid she would become addicted!

HAH...Hah....hah....ah.

Imagine that! Someone who thinks she should stay away....Just..In...Case...She....Gets....Hooked! HAH...ah.

Wise person.

I know! I love that name! Female pirate! That's what the forum needs.

We so need a forum booth or table at the next TAM. with printed info to give out!

I registered last year, but didn't really start posting until this year. Went to TAM2 and TAM3 (didn't know about TAM1). Took some audience shots and posted the link on another thread. So far, my TAM3 photo album has been visited by over 500 forum readers. Makes me feel bad I didn't bring my good camera.

Also makes me feel bad I didn't bring my event photography skills (limited though they may be) to the Forum extra-curriculars.

But as yet, I don't know the secret handshake...

The list is growing! I had forgotten to add Tquilla. So now we have the following people who registered right after/because of TAM:

PyeWhackett
aofl
BrianW
Mrick
Tquilla

Hey all--

I heard about the JREF and Amaz!ng Meeting through local friends here in Vegas, and after attending TAM 3, I registered for the forums too. So far I've just been lurking.

I had an incredible time at TAM 3, even though I didn't participate in any of the extra-curricular activities that I've read about here (perhaps being that I live in the "Party Capital of the World", I tend to shun revelry). The speakers were wise, witty, and incredibly informative. I've told many like-minded people here in Las Vegas about TAM 3 and I hope to get more locals to attend TAM 4.

Anyway, thanks, Luciana, for the suggestion to do an intro post; I'm not a big "jump right in" kinda gal.

Feh! Las Vegas is like Copenhagen on Prozac.

Sorry, it's the law here. You have to be just that. ;)

OK, so I suck at spotting new threads.

Introduce myself, you say? That kinda defeats the point of choosing a relatively anonymous nickname, doesn't it? On the other hand, it's distinctly possible that those of you I actually met at TAM 3 have by now figured out who I must be.

So, probably the most concise way of putting it is: I'm Kiless' husband. A 32 yo computer programmer, owned by 4 cats, and (believe it or not) the one that actually convinced Kiless to go to TAM3 on our "honeymoon" (you'd never actually believe that, though, given her indepth involvement in the forum community and my lack of same).

I realise it's several weeks now since TAM3 and that by any reasonable account I've been terribly slack about increasing my total number of posts. However, I can reasonably blame this on three things:

  1. I've been on site, without access to the Internet, for several weeks. Obviously I'm more likely to post during work hours, thereby wasting my employer's time rather than my own. :)
  2. World of Warcraft. 'Nuff said.
  3. I'm not really interesting enough to post terribly much in any case.
    [/list=1]

But I'm back at work now, so you're likely to see more of me from time to time - much to your misfortune.

(Gah! Now he's going to find the blooming limerick thread too.... You and I know very well that your rhyming ability is far superior to mine and I'm already being shown up as an inferior writer by the poets here! Darn, hell and blast!) :(

I joined just after TAM3. I was aware of the forums, but feared the usual message board BS (I'm happy to have been mistaken).

Why join? Who wouldn't seek out an island of (relative :) ) sanity in this world full of credulity and superstition?

So um, yeah. I'm David. Hi.
