Visit google, type in "miserable failure" Press "I'm feeling lucky."

Someone has taken advantage of google's mechanisms for ranking pages after number of links _to_ a page from pages with a specific topic. Kind of hard to defend yourself against this sort of fun. :D

I just heard of another process called "googlewhacking". The game is to type in two totally unrelated words and see if you can get one single hit.

Haven't visited the site googlewhack yet (at work), but I understand they have about 250,000 entries already.

Makes you think, eh....

Imagine relatively few sites, pointing to Sylvia, JE, all the quacks, the homeopaths, the channelers....

Imaging those few sites to be of a skeptical nature....

What keywords should be efficient....?

Neo-cons fight back with their own Google Bomb:

Type "honorable" and click "I'm Feeling Lucky."

Depends on what you mean by efficient. The 'miserable failure' and 'honorable' google bombs are mere pranks, they don't represent real searches. If one wanted to make a real impact the goal would have to skew a real search. Take "moon hoax" for instance. If the top pages hadn't already been debunkings we should be working to put the Bad Astronomer et al there.

Similarly, we shouldn't look for silly terms to point to Sylvia and JE. We should look for the terms woo-woos use to find Sylivia and JE and make sure the top hits are for JREF, Skepdic and BA.
