Seriously, while seeing people is not the be-all and end-all of my vacations, I do enjoy seeing folks whom I have come to know so well on this site. Last year when I was out West I was fortunate enough to break bread with jj and another poster (whose name I truly can't remember although he told me it several times) and the chance to do so this trip is most welcome.

That I've also promised to bring brib...er, gifts with me from some of my travels of course should have nothing to do with attendance....
 
I'm looking forward to this. 10 or so years ago, when we had a local usenet group, I got into it with a dowser who was going to go around to all the schools, giving demonstrations. He even said (quoting as verbatim as I can remember), "You design the experiment." But, I was helpless. I could have used a group like this, then. Although a skeptic, it was all rather unformed, and a bit lonely. I had never heard of Randi, Gardner, Shermer, "Skepticism," etc.

Now, though, I think the first thing I'd do is put out a call on one of these boards for help. It's nice to know I can do that.

BTW, the guy who works in the next cube is into remote viewing, and such, and he knows I'm a skeptic. We get into friendly discussions, occasionally, so maybe I'll get another chance.
 
Looks like it's going to be a great group! Can't wait to meet you, Beady. So far we've got me, Larry, Kitty, Paul, Scott, Supercorgi, maybe repcon (I owe you a drink, this is your big chance to collect!), Beady, and of course Hutch!
