Talk about harbouring a grudge, I would check through the national guard enrollment looking for ex-pupils.

"The National Guard takes this situation very seriously," said Lt. Col. Roberta Niedt, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. "The safety of our people and the surrounding communities are our foremost concern."

Well that's all right, then.

Damn it all! I KNEW there was something wrong with the map info in this airplane!

Some suggestions for new PTA bumper stickers at Little Egg Harbor:

My school's so tough,

. . . the lunch ladies wear Kevlar hairnets.

. . . the third-graders play "Duck, duck, COVER!"

. . . the cafeteria serves Meals Ready to Eat.

. . . after reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, we shout, "Hoo-ah!"

. . . the homecoming bonfire is held in the principal's office.

And last:

My Kid Is a Medal of Honor Winner at Little Egg Harbor Intermediate School.

Update!

They figured out what happened as it turns out the pilot thought that the gun was in target mode when in fact it was armed, so when he pulled the trigger, the gun actually discharged as opposed to activating the laser targeting system.

Air Force Blames Pilot in School Strafing

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. - An Air National Guard pilot who accidentally fired on a New Jersey school during a nighttime training exercise was to blame for the incident, but poorly designed controls in the F-16 also played a role, the Air Force concluded Friday.

...

"Unfortunately, the MP [mission pilot] forgot that his aircraft's air-to-ground gun mode was selected and armed ready to fire. The MP immediately realized his error when the aircraft gun's discharged," the report said.
