Well basically, Richard Kent proposes that dinosaurs which survived from the time when O2 levels were higher would have to breathe so hard that their nostrils would spontaneously ignite, thus giving rise to dragons and their mythology.

Of course, the flames would have consumed yet more O2, further rendering the "dragon" a non-viable lifeform. But this is never mentioned for some reason.

The video dismantles this proposal in a pythonesque way. I enjoyed it.

So did I. I'm subscribed to the channel.

Thanks for the link.
It's good to know great minds are working on the question of where dragons come from.

Dinosaurs were fully as big as any dragon, and their nostrils didn't ignite.

Well, technically, all the oldest dragon stories have them being fully marine animals, so how's their nostrils going to ignite with all that water,
:p

Ever hear of evolution? :D

All life started in water and then some migrated to land. I don;t see why dragons could not have done so to.

It's a funny old world with some funny old fellows, isn't it.

This thread needs a Buddy Davis song!

I fully agree that this person is stupid and all, but um, give a look through the Monster Manual for the game Dungeons and Dragons. The biggest dragon, by far, dwarfs the biggest dinosaur one could think of.

Your average , run of the mill, middle aged dragon is about as big as a t-rex, to say nothing of the great Wyrms, and whathave you.

I can confirm this is true, as attested by several ancient cultures, the world and the sky are actually the remains of a bisected dragon, defeated at the dawn of time by a human sized God armed with a fork
;)
