I've become increasingly suspicious of DRG's motives recently, and I think I might be on to something.
Have you ever read one of Randi's commentaries when he has (sarcastically, I assume) lamented on being on the "wrong side" of the game? That is, being a sceptic is a thankless task, whilst almost anyone with the slightest clue of how the human mind works can make a fortune as a "psychic".
Well, I think DRG has made this decision. I don't think he, like most truthers, is deluded or easily influenced. I certainly don't think he believes in the crap he peddles. I think he knows full well it's a load of bunk - but bunk that sells.
And how!
