America's money is pretty much worthless without oil to back it. There have been thousands of claims of free energy in the past, but the subject has grown in popularity lately in the main stream, due to the internet. I have learned of many Over-Unity machine conspiracy theories in the past few months alone. Are any of them true? I have no idea. But this country has allot to lose if free energy becomes easily attainable. I keep hearing how Steorn must have a real machine because they have nothing to gain from lying about it. Maybe. But what if they have already been paid off? What if they never had an OU machine. What if they were paid to make this false claim? So when all the scientists discover this, they would get laughed at by the scientific community for thinking the had broken the COE law. All future Free energy claims would not be taken seriously. This would be very beneficial to people wishing to keep oil as our top energy source.

It's all in theory though =P

I do not know much on this topic, but I thought I'd take this opportunity to welcome you to the forum g4macdad.

The idea of a perpetual motion machine isn't a conspiracy, it's just bad science.

Over-Unity machines are a scam, not a conspiracy (unless there is moe than one inventor-developer)
Over-Unity machines would cause the Sun to go out, Earth to leave its Orbit, and all electrical and mechanical devices would cease working, since the theories that regulate their action would be instantly invalid.
Breaking the laws of man can get you jail time.
Attempting to break the laws of nature is generally fatal.

I dunno...to me OU means beardy weirdies in wing collars and kipper ties trying to teach the great unwashed advanced physics at 3:00am.... it could have been a conspiracy....

...and then again, it might just have been the invention of VHS.

I'm in the power generation business, and we have no worries about 'free energy'. It is a myth, and from a scientific standpoint, impossible as long as gravity is in the mix.

The no-planers like to claim that Steven Jones ruined cold fusion for mankind.

I'm sorry but this is lunacy. Do you really think that if someone really does discover OU (impossible, of course) that they'll let some laughter and riducule deter them from developing their idea.

Equally crazy is the idea that oil companies are buying up valid PM machine patents to keep them off the market. So someone has an invention that will guarantee him tens of billions of dollars, but he agrees to sell his patent to the oil companies for what....a few million bucks?:eye-poppi

All that anyone needs to do, for over-unity claims to be taken seriously, is to build one that works. Support of the general scientific community is completely unnecessary if you have a machine that net outputs energy. It would be a virtual license to print money.

For some reason, though, no one has ever build one. Hmmm.

Could be no one who has previously tried had quantum glue or carbon nanotubes. Now we have one of those items. It's only a matter of time now. Only a matter of time!

The problem with this theory is, OU devices are already laughed at by the scientific community. Why pay yet another fraud to cause something that's already happening?

And, BTW, patents are public documents, so "buying them up" can't conceal the information anyways.

And at least in Canada, a patentee who deliberately prevents their patented technology from being used, can be sued for abuse of their patent rights. The Comissioner of Patents has the authority to issue compulsive licences in such cases, so that those who desire to use the technology can. They still have to pay a reasonable fee, but that fee is also determined by the CoP, so even then, the patentee cannot set so high a fee as to make it impossible to get a licence.

So another good myth knocked down.

Oh, I see you guys misunderstood me. I was so confused.

No, no see what I was saying was, they never had a machine at all, but someone funded them for publicity, to let any fence sitters who had hopes for free energy, down. Hard. Then the interest goes away and the oil is safe again.

I believe at least one claim, although it is not free energy, Tesla's coil. This is scientific fact, am I wrong?<------- question

PS. there is no need to add the rolling eyes smily to replies. Just make a note when you are not being sarcastic.

You seem to have some sort of difficulty with reading comprehension. We all know what you meant, but obviously you didn't understand what I wrote:

What is scientific fact? What exactly is it you believe about Tesla Coils? They certainly exist, so what is it about them that you expect us to disagree with?

If you want to fight, you've at least got to let us know what to fight about! It's only fair! ;)

FSM darned edit function.....I'm never sarcastic! Except when I am. Smiliey usage isn't just for your benefit. We have several posters who are not native English speakers, and several more who don't speak sarcasm, so we need to point it out for their benefit.
