Hi All,

I was talking to a friend about Bill Maher the other day and he said he didn't like the guy as he was an anti-vax nutjob, Well i tried googling and only came up with allegations from 2005 that he said he didn't believe in vaccinations. Does anyone have any better proof of Mr Mahers past stance on vaccinations or his current position on the subject?

Thanks in advance, and if find something I bow down to your search-foo.

O.

thanks for the help,

I had found the randi thread but that second one with king seems to seal the deal.
They were both back in 2005, and I would hope that he has learned a little more now, and not from his chiropractor, but i am going to have to take him with a pinch of salt from now on.

I'm sure I commented on these forums recently on his opinions of the cervical cancer jab (he was for it and ranting against the relgious nuts who were against it) and how it seemed a contradiction of his previous antivax views.

I'll see if I can find the thread.

Don't just link to that time Orac talked about Maher.

Go to http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/ and use the in-blog search. Just type "maher" and hit enter. Don't like that? Here's the google search version. LINK\

You can search at video.google.com and youtube.com for bill maher's stand up specials for HBO and comedy central. There's a point even where he blames most sickness in the country on "aggregate toxicities in our food," says that the reason we feel like crap is because of all the crap we're trying to get out of ourselves. He goes as far to say "I'd sooner put a condom on hotdog than eat it."

He's also a chairman of terrorist organization Peta, and a virulent misogynist who, in one episode of spectacular Orwellian performance (A special called "I'm Swiss"), turned every conservative strawman of liberals into his own strawman of feminists.

Thaks for the replys guys, Yes he seems to be a little bit weird on this subject, all of Aeriks link were great, I feel the only reason he was pro HPV jab might be because the xtians were against it. That's not doesn't seem like healthy skepticism to me.
Thanks again.
