My kingdom for an “evolution” bumper sticker

Took my son to his cub scout meeting last night, held at a local church don’t you know; and what do I see in the parking lot????????????????
A trailer, sporting the brilliant logo “Creation Education” brought to you by the “Institute for Creation Studies” (or some such). These people travel from church to church and tell all the little kiddies their version of the creation myth and basically lie about science, I’ve heard them with my own ears.
I thought; wooooow, what treasures must be in this little eight foot long trailer, unfossilized T-rex bones, photos of a living pterosaur, a piece of Noah’s ark; just think of it.
Of course, being a moral atheist I would not dream of any acts vandalism; but if I only had a “Darwin” bumper sticker I would have showed um, I tell you what!!!!!

I'm curious - how do you deal with the Christian overtones involved in the scouting movement? I am assuming that you are an athiest - if I'm wrong, I apologize.

I have a friend who just today told me of his son's first Beavers meeting (beavers are the youngest group in Scouts Canada). At the end of the meeting, they had a prayer. His son was mystified as to what the heck was going on. He also said that he worries his son is being somewhat indoctrinated by their nanny, who is very "churchy".

So, how do you deal with the inevitable questions about God, etc. that would come from this? Or, is the group that your son goes to not involved in the Christian end of things?

They do have an achievement (to get a patch) dealing with religion and that’s ok with me because it is one that is left up to the family; so I’ll take to him to church, discuss the different world beliefs, so on, and so on
But at the weekly meetings there is no form of religious indoctrination; apart from being held in a church
