I just sent the following email to Larry King via the CNN web site. I know it may seem futile, but I urge anyone interested in the topic to do the same. Here's the link where you can do so: http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?12

Mr. King,
I am a fan of show and have enjoyed your interviews for many years. I am writing however to say I am disturbed by your avoidance of an issue you have previously addressed on your show, at which time you stated you would follow up on it. I am talking about psychic Sylvia Browne's acceptance and subsequent avoidance of the James Randi Educational Foundation's $1,000,000 challenge.
It was on your show that Sylvia, very pompously accepted the terms and conditions of a test laid out by Mr. Randi. It was also on your show where you asked if you could be involved in said testing, to which both Mr. Randi and Ms. Browne agreed. On her most recent appearance on your show, Ms. Browne stated that she would not take the test because Mr. Randi would not put the money in escrow. Well, a certified letter recently sent to you has shown that Mr. Randi has agreed to do just that!
On more than one occasion, you have given Sylvia Browne free reign on more than one occasion to spout what I believe to be knowingly fraudulent statements, which are both unfair and cruel to her believers. I feel it is your duty as a respected journalist to follow up, as you said you would, on this story, and report the facts as they are; either Sylvia has finally agreed to take the test with you acting as Excrow agent, or she has declined yet again even though all of her previous conditions have now been met.
I'm sure I'm not the only one writing to you on this matter, and I hope you will take this seriously. I believe your program has been used as a forum to spread lies and deceipt, and it's time you set the record straight!
Thank you,
Mark (last name withheld so none of you sickos can stalk me :)

Good job, Markus. Hopefully HE will really read it. Sylvia Brown is supposed to be the guess again tomorrow on Larry King! Maybe Randi will call in and give her some real questions to answer.

One time on LKL a skeptic did get through and was able to ask about the challenge, she gave some BS about the money not being in escrow. So Randi has sent mail to LK asking him to hold the money. It will be interesting to see if he brings that up.

Meanwhile, she just told a caller her loved one died of "a septosis...you know, there was something wrong with his system." Is that in the medical books?

Read the story from Bryan Farha, the guy who called in:
"Dodge Ball Deluxe - The Sylvia Browne Chronology"

Bryan Farha is a professor of education at Oklahoma City University where he teaches a course titled, "Psychology & Skepticism". He also teaches in the departments of psychology, criminal justice, and sociology. Bryan is also a member of CSICOP's astrology subcommittee.

I think that LK is probably as skeptic as anyone in this forum, and perhaps he is also laughing at our picturesque attempts to unveil Sylvia's fraud. He wouldn't care less; psychics mean great numbers for him and a good professional is not going to betray the guests who bring money to his show.

He is neither a woo-woo nor a crusader. He's just a businessman, and a very successful one indeed.

Why, oh why do so many skeptics watch these shows when they have woowoos on? And if you're a skeptic with a Nielsen box/journal and you do this, shame on you!:p

I see Larry just wrote a foreword for John Edward's new book too. It's carefully worded and does not actually endorse JE's "abilities", except as good show "material", but I wonder why he felt the need to do this at all? Surely he can't need the publicity? I think he runs the risk of being tainted by association with such people. As a journalist, the risk to his credibility seems unwise. Maybe he's just a chat show host after all.
