voidx,

You asked if I was going to put up the other example of JE live and unedited.

Its not a transcript, though, its a media file of JE live and unedited when he appeared on "The Wayne Brady Show". The first part is a bit of interview and then they go to the audience where he does a couple of short readings.

edited to add: That didn't work. I'm going to try again...

What was you're opinion of these particular readings?

Well, I don't know that it matters at all, since apparently we're not going to get to see them. They've been up at FOJE for so many weeks, I never thought they'd suddenly be deleted. :(

Oh, what did I think? No "dazzle shots" (as Steve would say), but interesting...competent. As I recall it, significantly better than the LKL 50% hit rate, but I think he only read three people. As I remember it....interesting...pretty good...I wish he'd had longer.

Why do people go to mediums? Why does a feather, a bird, or a yellow ribbon somehow represent a deceased loved one?

I can't help but think that if a person accepts that a feather falling out of the sky is a sign from a dead loved one, that this person is desperate.

If a woman is at the falls and her and her daughter discover a feather floating out of the sky to their feet, this is a sign from the deceased loved one?

Than what about the half million other feathers that are falling from the sky all over the world at the exact time this one fell?

I am trying to understand the [signs] that believers talk about. What makes them significant?

What has a medium said about your deceased loved one that made you believe?

Where did you get the URLs from, then? You didn't even check to see if the files would be there, before you posted the links to them??

Sloppy, Clancie...really sloppy...

Hearsay. Your memory has been shown to be not just flawed, but consistently biased in favor of JE.

Dismissed until we get a chance to look at them ourselves.

I was serious when I asked;

What has a medium said about your deceased loved one that made you believe?

Has anyone ever been told something from a medium, about a loved one [deceased] that nobody else could have known, something special that the medium could not have learned prior to the reading?

In fairness, Claus, Clancie indicated above that she felt her opinion was irrelevant because the transcript was no longer available -- she was asked to render an opinion, nonetheless.

It appears that she agrees that not having the transcript makes analyzing the readings impossible.

NA

It has been claimed, but even if they did, we would have to rule out the following completely before we accept that he is conversing with the dead:

1) Sitter is lying - many reasons this could be the case, for acceptance by the medium, out of fear of not being accepted by the other sitters, to prove it to unbelievers, because they want to be on TV (a poor reading might not make the edit), because they are uncomfortable and want it to be over, etc.
2) Sitter is mistaken
3) Medium had a lucky guess

There is no way to rule all of these out without replicated scientific testing. Until that is done, I have a hard time accepting that any medium actually communicates with the deceased, and I find these options much more plausible.

Hi Leroy.

I agree that the mother and daughter talking about the feather from daddy could just be sentimental whimsy.

But it got an added significance when JE brought it up to the mother later on, imo.

I've had a couple of things that fit your question. (Any chance of starting a new thread for it? Since I don't have the media file from FOJE that I was hoping to post here, I'd just as soon this one sinks to the bottom....:( ).

Stop, stop, stop. This is not what happened.
