Just saw an ad for the ghost story on the Australian TV show Today/Tonight for tonight. The reporter called me yesterday and said that their expert had ruled out my explanation of a cobweb or something else close to the lenes. Mind you, I only saw the video and not the location.

Really! Based on what information did they come to the conclusion that it could not be a cobweb? I'd love to see their "analysis."
 
Man....why is it always a blurry video by these freaks. Its as dodgy as 95% of the UFO videos.
 
The "real" ghost pictures look more fake than your recreations. They should hire you to stage their videos from now on.
 
It's a shame how the media "enable" these hoaxes. They allow the hoaxers sidestep the burden of proof by showing some vague video and claiming "we don't know what it is".
 
OK.. my take is that it's a spider or a web... now I'm thinking spider, very close the camera. When the spider (or web) gets near the infrared lights, near the camera, you get a bright green glow of reflection. What do you think? Is there anyone out there with a night-vision cam who could try a recreation? If so, let Today/Tonight know. http://www.seven.com.au/todaytonight

Just to put your mind at rest, the mysterious aparition shown on TDT from CCTV footage was I am sad to say, a moth.

I've installed 100's of cameras and see this all the time, CCTV cameras also see infrared, and moths reflect this. I've had mysterious balls of light hovering in rooms etc, and if you showed just that part of the footage, it's quite eerie, but as these balls move closer to the camera, you see their little wings flapping away etc.

As I say to people, if there were ghosts, they would be pests, we would need spectre spray to keep them at bay, they would be lining up for interveiws with Ray Martin.

The thing on the "real" video seems to move like a spider though, not a moth. That is, you can see legs moving, which means it's probably physically crawling across the lense. It's also a lot more blurry than your cobweb, suggesting it's that close to the lense.
 
Someone is really saying the 'real' video is something other than a spider? I know it is a spider, not only because I can see the legs and see the thing crawling, but also because it scared the bejeezus out of me - as I have arachnaphobia.

Absolutely a spider.

It moves like a spider. It looks like a spider. And from the color of its aura, I'm guessing it is restful, and is probably an excellent gardener.
 
Definitely a spider, hard to believe that the video even got on television. They must have a lot of slow news days in Australia.
