Strange organism that could destroy Monsanto

Apparently, this is a pathogen with "unique physical properties"that is unknown to science and found only in Monsanto's GM corn and soybeans. According to this letter that Dr Huber sent out:
This previously unknown organism is only visible under an electron microscope (36,000X), with an approximate size range equal to a medium size virus. It is able to reproduce and appears to be a micro-fungal-like organism. If so, it would be the first such micro-fungus ever identified. There is strong evidence that this infectious agent promotes diseases of both plants and mammals, which is very rare.

Why am I reminded of Morgellons?

Look on the bright side. If true, it's more evidence for evolution.

I found this funny:

It’s anecdotal, not data — but it’s still scary

In other words, we aren't sure this is true, but feel free to panic anyway.

I can't just panic for no reason,
I need a Just panic for no good reason.

the guy who filed the report wrote some letter retired 3 years ago from the Purdue University

Heres a little twist to the story, from;

http://cookingupastory.com

And I quote, even though rumours of the letter being fake are not true in fact...

Peter Goldsbrough, professor and head of the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Purdue University where Dr. Huber had taught prior to his retirement 3 years ago, indicated by phone his skepticism over the authenticity of the letter, and most of the information contained within it.

Professor Goldsbrough stated that he, and the colleagues in his department, “are not aware of any new pathogen that has been identified”. The letter states in part:

“A team of senior plant and animal scientists have recently brought to my attention the discovery of an electron microscopic pathogen that appears to significantly impact the health of plants, animals, and probably human beings” .

Goldsbrough explained, not only would it be highly unusual for a single pathogen (within the same species) to pass across multiple species’ barriers, its claims about the deleterious effects of glyphosate on the production of certain crops, he and his fellow colleagues also found to be suspect.

I dont think it'll pan out, and anyway if it does, it's the normal self correcting scientific system that will deal with it, not the tree huggers.

Apparently Purdue felt the need to reply since Huber is touted as a retired Purdue plant pathologist.

Glyphosate – Manganese Interactions and Impacts on Crop Production: The Controversy
We have been getting many phone calls concerning the recent No-Till Farmer article ‘Are We Shooting Ourselves in the Foot with the Silver Bullet?’ (http://fhrfarms1.com/notillglyphosate.pdf). In this article based on an interview with Dr. Don Huber (retired plant pathologist from Purdue University), it is alleged that the non-judicious use of glyphosate has induced micronutrient deficiencies which have led to more plant disease. In our opinion the doomsday scenario painted by this article is greatly exaggerated.
