From the LCBlog:

Well, it didn't take long for Virgin to backpedal.

While we fully understand and support Virgin's decision, we also fully understand that they signed a legal binding contract, so essentially, they paid us for the rights to NOT show the movie.

Bravo, Virgin. :D

(note the smilie at the end.)

He's obviously not concerned that it won't be seen by many more people, but is happy with the money.

Still not about money eh?

I have to say I'm actually utterly astounded at this...

This demonstrates that, not only are they only in it for the money, but they are totally oblivious to how bad this makes them look.

Did you ever doubt it was about anything other than money. The original intent was a fictional film for chraists sake.

TAM:)

I wouldn't be smiling just yet if I were Dylan. Branson didn't get where he is by not being smart. I'd be watching my mail for a certified letter from Virgin's lawyers asking for their money back under clause 25(b)(4) in the sub-sub agate type. Or something. I can't imagine that Virgin's just going to let this go at that.

welcome soundaddicted.

If I see where you are going with your comment, than perhaps there is some validity in why they said this, sort of a sellout for the promotion of the greater good (from his perspective). That said, I think DA should clarify both to his followers/fans/supporters and to the general cyberpublic that read his posts. Now I guess he is not obligated to clarify, but it would be the honorable thing to do.

That I agree with TAM. The biggest mistake they make is not having a professional spokes person to make announcements. They put their foot in it every time. They need PR.

I truly don't believe DA is rubbing his hands about profitting from the deaths of 3000 people. This virgin deal was small fry compared to Final Cut.

The best thing to do would be donate any funds gained from this to the victims of 9/11.

I don't think we'll be seeing that from Dylan any time soon though.

"LCFC WILL be giving more to victims that United 93 and WTC movie."

Lol.

At the Loose Change website Dylan notched this up as a victory saying he got paid to not show his movie. I was under the impression that their goal was not $ but to disseminate the truth?

So will Dylan always take money in exchange for not showing his film? HArdly the traiits of someone who just wants to show people the truth.

by that logic the NWO could pay him several million dollars to "not show his movie" ever again and it would still be a victory

Lamely, Avery claimed that Virgin's backpeddle gave them publicity.

Riiight. Certainly not as much as actually showing the movie would have. LOL

I think his choice of titles is becoming somwhat prophetic.

"What would it take to keep my movie from being shown...?"

I would be willing to pay Dylan Avery $1,000 if he removed all copies of LC and made sure no one ever viewed it again.

It would cost alot more than $1000 to find and remove all copies of LC...

TAM:)

If Dylan got such an offer, say $3 million to not show LC anymore and take it down off Google Video and Youtube, he'd sign so fast that anyone else in the room would be in danger of being stabbed by the pen. Then he'd yell "So long, suckers!" to the Twoofers and ride off into the sunset.

Poor Twoofies just don't get it. Dylan is in this for himself first and foremost and he does not care what he has to do, or who he screws, to make money off it. He would sell out in a minute (and has) if he thought there was a buck to be made.
