I am re-reading "The Perfect Soldiers" by Terry McDermott. One passage strikes me as odd. This is in reference to Atta's views and discussions among members of the Hamburg cell (Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Ramzi Binalshibh, et al.), as described by Shahid Nickels:

They talked endlessly about conspiracy theories and the damage done by Jews, including their unquestioned assumption that Monica Lewinsky was a Mossad agent sent expressly to bring down President Clinton

I think the theory goes that Lewinsky was sent to cause a crisis and derail any peace talks between Israel and Palestine:

Atta very much believed this, and (had he not been involved in 9/11 and Al Qaeda) may have been very receptive to such theories and "truth" about 9/11.

Towards the end of the last decade, when Clinton authorized bombing Serbia in order to protect [or whatever] Kosovo, if I recall correctly the Serbs and their allies (Russia?) publically appealed to Monica Lewinsky to... to... well, somehow keep Clinton from doing rude things to them.

Is there no balm in Gilead?
 
It says in the 9/11 Commission Report that Atta also believed the US media and banking system was run by jews.

Which is quite funny really.
 
Kind of ironic that Atta himself would be written out of his greatest achievement by other conspiracy theorists who dismiss him as just "an Arab in a cave" and not capable of pulling off 9/11.

Those of us who are fluent in Arabic recognize this as an error in translation. The original text translates as:

"They talked endlessly about conspiracy theories and the damage done by Jews, including their unquestioned assumption that Monica Lewinsky was a Mossad agent sent expressly to go down on President Clinton.":rolleyes:

yes, very ironic. Atta really was a CT of the first order when it came to the Jews. Once he even blamed a door being too thin on them. ;)

If it wasn't so sad and dispicable, that fact that so many of his ilk (CT's not muslims) blame the Jews for 9/11 really would be mildly amusing.
