I got this unit.

GOgroove BlueSYNC SRC Portable Bluetooth Speaker & Receiver w/ Rechargeable Battery, Hands-free Calling, and Playback Controls

It actually doesn't look quite as big in that photo as it is. (Not much bigger, though.)

Sound quality is pretty darn good. Max volume isn't enough to clear a room, but is enough for everybody to hear it just fine.

Speakerphone answer and call features work fine. (At least with our Note 2's) Mrs. qg really likes that capability.

Build quality seems solid and durable, it's actually a tad on the heavy side for its size. Has headphone and auxiliary jacks, so you can turn your sound systems into BT receivers if they aren't already. Gets around six hours plus on a charge.

Best of all the battery is user replaceable and uses bog standard Nokia BL-5C style Li batteries that you can pick up by the handful for peanuts. External chargers also dirt cheap. You can pack a couple of days worth of juice in a pocket if you're off on a camping trip.

I've paired it without difficulty with two phones, a Tab 3, an Asus Infinity tf700t, and my Win8 laptop. It seems pretty compatible. (Bluetooth Profile: 2.1 +EDR, A2DP, AVRCP, so some of what it can do depends on what your phone is capable of.)

I've been very pleased with it.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like they work pretty good.
Maybe I will just pick one up from walmart and if it sucks take it back and then spend a bit more money on one.
