MIKE MAGGIO, Spirit Reader

Mike Maggio, a challenge claimant, will be communicating with spirits to discern the contents of a series of envelopes on June 4, 2007 in Tokyo, Japan. The challenge is a collaboration between the JREF and the Japanese television company "Vivio". The Challenge results will be aired on June 18th at 10pm in Japan.

Maggio will be presented with 20 sealed envelopes, each of which will contain the name of an object. Maggio claims that the spirits he is in communication with will be able to tell him the contents. Maggio has been presented, in advance, with a list of the objects, so he must name them with absolute specificity.

If Maggio is able to correctly name the contents of five out of the twenty envelopes, he will be invited to take the formal Challenge on a future date.

We are hoping to have video footage of Maggio's spirit readings available soon, so stick with us until then!

Recently, Mike Maggio went on Japanese television in front of a live audience to communicate with spirits and divine the contents of 20 different envelopes - each of which contained a different symbol.

Maggio was only able to properly determine the contents of one envelope (which is exactly the number that chance predicts).

Maggio conducted himself very well, and did not offer any excuses for the failure. He does, however, remain convinced of his abilities, and will apply for the challenge again in one year.

Everyone in Japan, keep your remotes ready - the show will air on June 18th!
