While in Minnesota to raise funds for his wife's campaign, former President Bill Clinton encountered some of the 9-11 crackpots, and gave them a piece of his mind:

Clinton's 50-minute speech, which started about an hour behind schedule, was derailed briefly by several hecklers in the audience who shouted that the 2001 terrorist attacks were a fraud. Rather than ignoring them, Clinton seemed to relish a direct confrontation.

"A fraud? No, it wasn't a fraud," Clinton said, as the crowd cheered him on. "I'll be glad to talk to you if you shut up and let me talk."

When another heckler shouted that the attacks were an "inside job," Clinton took even greater umbrage.

"An inside job? How dare you. How dare you. It was not an inside job," Clinton said. "You guys have got to be careful, you're going to give Minnesota a bad reputation."

You may recall that Bill got harassed by the New York branch of the WACs; that may account for him being prepared to handle the fruitcakes this time around.

Haha this is great! More politicians should respond the way he did. When they get all wishy and washy and political the conspiracy theorists take as proof of their conspiracy, ie: "WHAT IS HE TRYING TO HIDE?!!?" They have to straight up be told what loons they are.
 
I actually liked Bill when he was in office.

His wife not so much...

She'd go truther if she thought it would help her. She's an opportunist.

Which is why she should denounce the crackpots. It's an opportunity for a "Sister Soljah" moment. She'd get bigtime props in the conservative blogosphere; Allahpundit at Hot Air (Michelle Malkin's video blog) gave Bill a high-five.
 
Now,inspired by the morons on the Bill Maher show, the twoofers will go crazy interrupting famous speakers in hopes of spreading the "Truth".
Much Amusement lie ahead for us,folks.
I 100% Agree that being diplomatic with the Truthers is the wrong way to go. They will just take that as agreement.proclaim it as such on the Truther sites,and soon the opponents of the Politician in question will be using that ammunition that the guy is a loon.

Thing is, Bill Clinton isn't a candidate for anything now and most likely won't be in the future. That leaves him marvelously free to speak his mind.

It's the active pols, the ones who are either running for something or are likely to in the future, who find it necessary to pull the "all things to all people" or "if you have no idea what someone is talking about, just mumble some noncommittal platitudes" schtick.

Someone with the stones to tell a woo "you're talking a load of fetid dingo's kidneys. Stop wasting our time." while running for office would be such a breath of fresh air. Alas, I doubt this could be achieved without the use of brain surgery, powerful drugs, or both. ;)

I'd like to point out that these people in no way represent the general population of Minnesota. We can be loud mouthed at times, due to having to yell over gale force winds in the middle of a blizzard, but we are also polite and courteous. It's called "Minnesota Nice."

I wonder if he did talk to them, or used the second interruption as an excuse to not speak any further on the subject. He did say "I'll be glad to talk to you if you shut up and let me talk."
 
Didn't like Clinton that much as president, but damn that was a good response to the moonbats obnoxious tirades. A+ Bill....A+..
 
The TM reminds me of a two cycle engine as it runs out of gas. It speeds up and makes a lot of noise, just before completely dieing.
