Sigh. Salon.com has entered the fight to punish evil, greedy vaccine companies and the government who conceal the massive evidence that thimerosol preservative in vaccines directly causes autism and other neurologic problems in children. You can read a bunch of new articles at http://www.salon.com if you're registered. The introductory paragraph screams:

"When a study revealed that mercury in childhood vaccines may have caused autism in thousands of kids, the government rushed to conceal the data -- and to prevent parents from suing drug companies for their role in the epidemic."

Interestingly, when I googled on "mercury autism" the first seven articles retrieved either advertized legal assistance for suing vaccine manufacturers or advertized ways of reversing autism with chelation therapy. It wasn't until the eighth article that I found something that quoted the mass of evidence that there is no link whatsoever between mercury in vaccines and neurologic damage in children.

Woo conquers again. How sad.

I just found two huge blatant lies in the article just by looking up actual studies and memos. I could find more, but I'm just flabbergasted the author would print something saying the exact opposite of the actual source of the actual information.

I don't get it. I just don't get it. The study says the exact opposite of what the author claimed the study said.

Did the idiot journalist just not bother to read it for himself? What happened to fact checking?

I'm just floored at the blatant misinformation printed.

Are there any journalists with a brain out there? My hubby keeps telling me "It's just Rolling Stone". But it's also this other publication in this thread. What is "Salon" anyway?

AIUI, Salon is a fringe/socialist newsmag that is widely read by the far-left conspiracy mongering anti-capitalist folks, but if I'm wrong I'll listen to reason.:)
