Meeting Atlanta Sceptics?

So, my employer has decided to send me to Atlanta for a couple of weeks.

So I was wondering if anyone from around there would be interested in meeting up over a few beers (or milk if you prefer that) some time.

I should be around from 10th October to 18th November (And I need to be awake and conscious enough to find the airport on the 19th ...), staying in Norcross.

I'd also be quite happy to get advise on what else to do whilst there :)

Things to do? The aquarium is rather excellent. Other than that it's mostly touristy stuff, unless you catch a baseball game or somethin'. Norcross is a tad out of my way, sadly. =(

I will have a rental car for at least the first week, so it doesn't have to be in Norcross, really.

Quite a few of us are busy with DragonCon at the moment, but I'm sure we'd be up for hanging out sometime; in fact, I believe you'll be in town for one of our legendary Skeptics in the Pub events.

Oh that sounds great.

http://www.atlantaskeptics.com/ <- Do I need to watch this? Doesn't seem to have a current date just yet.

We actually have an event with the JREF scheduled (though not yet publicized, so don't tell the Atlanta people) on Oct 22. Details will be on the web site you've got, the twitter feed (@AtlantaSkeptics), the Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/groups/36122588937/) and the Meetup group (http://www.meetup.com/AtlantaSkeptics/)

If you want to only pay attention to one, I'd suggest the Meetup group, since that's where you'd have to go to RSVP anyway, and it'll have directions and details.

There's also an Independent Investigations Group in Atlanta. They are affiliated with (and mostly comprised of) the Atlanta Skeptics. I don't know if they have any plans during that timeframe, but if you're interested, it shouldn't be hard to stay up on their activities.

IIG-Atlanta's regular meetings are on the first Sunday of the month (except this month because of Dragon*Con). I don't think we have anything else in particular planned for October. We've been ferociously focused on D*C, and now we haz a tired.

Looks like I might get to be there even longer, I'll post new dates if and as soon as I get them.

Ignore Scrut. He's a Midwestern boy who's fearful of humidity. Just wait to see if Wowbagger allows him to have any authority in this thread.

I don't recall any of the Atlanta people buying me a beer at TAM 9. So, like I said, dreadful, horrible people.

Well, one did give me a ride to the airport, but I figure that was a statistical anomaly.

Truly, the world has not seen such evil before.

I think I'm gonna fit in just great.

I remember giving a ride to a couple of chicks. Were you a stowaway?

Who'd have thunk that 3 hours of hearing that I am probably not a psychic could be fun?
