Out of my 1198-99 ASHRAE Journal (magazine for architects, mechanical contractors, university studies, etc.) If you can help figure outr solutions to posed problems/research projects...maybe you could get a grant for working on these.

Here is a taste of some of the listed ones:

"Moisture transfer in porous materials exposed to combined humidity and temperature gradients." (From Virginia Polytechnic Institute)

"Practical guide to seismic restraint". (From Mason Industries, Inc.)

"Forced dispersion of ammonia plumes into the atmosphere". (From Kansas State University)

"The applicability, design aspects and long-term effects of EDH-enhanced heat transfer of alternate refrigerants/refrigerant mixtures for HVAC applications". (By Texas A & M University)

"Characterizatrion of frost growth and heat transfer at low temperatures". (By the University of Saskatchewan)

"In-tube evaporation of ammonia in smooth and enhanced tubes with and without miscible oils". (From Kansas State University)

"Development of dust control strategies to improve air quality in animal facilities". (By the University of Illinois)

"Development of accuracy tests for mechanical systems stimulations". (By Penn State University)

"Determine the efficacy of antimicrobial treatments of fibrous air filters". (By Research Triangle Institute)

"Heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics during in-tube gas cooling of supercritical carbon dioxide". (By Purdue University)

"Cooler floor heat gain in refrigerated structures". (By the University of Colorado)

"Need for vapor retarder systems for flat or low-slope compact roofs in cold climates". (By Enermodal Engineering Ltd.)

"Condensation-induced hydraulic shock laboratory study". (By the Georgia Institute of Technology)

Aren't these fun to read? If any of you like to read up on such stuff, in general, you can get ahold of this magazine. The ASHRAE Journal. The magazine of the American Society of Heating, refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers, Inc.

I'd get these magazines as an architect friend of mine would toss them out after he read them. I was fascinated by the contents. it can be quite humbling...and interesting. The particular issue in-hand here has about 50 of the research projects that I gave some examples of. If you got the brains and knowledge in such a field, perhaps you could contribute to such projects.
