ETA: I think I see where the confusion lies here. I am not saying that having sex with a horse is equivalent to raping a person, morally or otherwise. My point is that even if a horse is physically able to stop someone from having sex with it, that doesn't mean that a horse can give consent.

I'm not arguing for or against beastiality, just that horses can't give consent in the regular meaning of the word when talking about sex.

I don't see how consent should even be an issue when it comes to animals.

Animals shouldn't be subject to unnecessary pain and suffering at the hands of humans, and I doubt that having sex with a horse causes it pain and suffering. There's a huge "ick" factor, but that reaction is by other humans, not the horse.

Sorry, it looks like I edited my post while you were responding. To be clear, I am not commenting on the right or wrong of beastiality. My point is being physically able to stop someone from having sex with you, and not doing so, is not the same thing as consent.

I've just remembered something a friend of mine told me at college many years ago - someone was mentioned in their local paper as having been caught having sex with a chicken. Interestingly, he was only prosecuted for stealing the chicken.

And one I would ride with my dad, when crossing a stream, would get down and roll. I'd step off and let it, and get back on as it got up.
And they're famous for taking a deep breath when cinching up the girth, so the saddle loosens and slips when you try to get on. :)

Search the term " Horse Ripping" if you don't think that a horse gets caused pain and suffering from sex with people.

Horses/dogs/anything else someone wants to do, are physically more different from people than a lot think when it comes to sex organs and their function. And because of this bestiality causes the animals harm. Having a few weird friends i have gotten into this debate before, and sadly have had to do my research. As much as i can't blame you, using the standard logic that if a male animal is going to do it, it is not going to hurt it simply means you havn't looked into the facts.

While i can't say it is a pleasant road to go down, do the research. The ways people get animals to do what they want them to do, and the effects that they have on animals are not pleasant. This has nothing to do with ick factor, it has to do with harm to the animals themselves.

You know i don't know where i should make the joke. There are so many avenues, should i state that this shows the intelligence level of someone who would consider bestiality? Should i comment on how someone can be so socially retarded as to post a question like this online? Or should i insult the educational system in not being able to teach biology sufficiently to make this fact obvious?

Bestiality is one of those subjects like torture. Knowledge has a distinct benefit, but always makes it seem as if one has an unhealthy interest in it.

When your favorite animal is the skunk though, thankfully one cannot really be accused of wanting to bang one, lol.
