More likely to have been socialist voters doing nothing more sinister than abstaining because they didn't think the likely victors were attractive enough to deserve their vote. But maybe they're all singing ça ira in the banlieues. That would be more interesting I agree. Very French too.

That's good, much better than if he had won in excess of 400, or even 475 seats some projections showed. This way France still has some credible opposition while Macron can still push through the necessary reforms

One reason Macron plans to use a fast method(*) is probably that he wants the labor reform done before fall.

During an interview yesterday someone of Marcon's parti said the normal procedure to get a law adopted and entered into fore takes two years and that is precisely what the government wants to prevent by using "ordonnances" for some pieces of legislation.

I think every politican nowdays tweets. Thing is most of them have their PR or Public Information staff do it,instead of spouting the first thing that crosses their mind the way Trump does.
