There's a story hitting talk radio and the internet that the Republican Party In MaComb County, Michigan will try to stop residents, who received foreclosure notices on their homes, from being able to vote in upcoming elections. The story was originally reported by the Michigan Messenger on the 10th of September and is spreading fast. Here is the link to the Michigan Messenger's side of the story:

Today the Detroit Free Press ran a story concerning the issue in which the Republicans deny the aligations:

It's obvious to me that somebody is lying. The question is who?

Without hard evidence of the freezing over of Hell and environs, I'm forced to say it's the republickers.

Translation: this story flatters my prejudices, so despite no evidence for this, I'll believe it until I see proof against it.

I tried a search in google news on "foreclosure vote michigan," to see if there was a legitimate news source that mentioned this story, and there was a link to a Wall Street Journal article. It looked like this:

Ohio Republicans Sue Over Voting Rules
Wall Street Journal - Sep 12, 2008
In Michigan, Republicans announced a plan to challenge voters based on foreclosure lists. The Florida Department of State made a last-minute announcement ...

But when I clicked on the link, there was no mention of Michigan Republicans in the story. Isn't that the point of the quote under the link, that you will see those words in the story?

I did the same search in Google and came up with the same result as you. I searched the WSJ using their search function and did not find anything related to the Michigan foreclosure-voting story. The story is not at the WSJ. Perhaps a glitch in the Google search?
