Gawd I hate playing devils advocate for these ignoramuses (ignorami?). But one could argue that the MIBs wanted the psychological impact of the towers collapsing, but they also wanted Wall Street operating at it's normal capacity again as soon as possible after their big show. They didn't want all their precious investment bankers and stockbrokers getting sick, so they sacrificed the EMTs, police officers and firefighters instead.
I feel dirty now.
But they had no gaurantee that this would be the result.
We can see it with the benefit of hindsight, but what if the global economic community did a runner after 911? Who wants to have their global financial headquarters in a city which is a major (real or faked) terrorist target?
9/11 panned out without too much downside for the global economy, and this is latched on to by the 'truthers' as some kind of evidence of LIHOP or MIHOP, and yet, just as with the actuall impacts of the planes, they lack the imagination to consider the possible other alternatives.
I'm no fan of Bush, far from it, and I hesitate to credit him with any action which managed to prevent the possible economic meltdown of the US markets, but at the same time I'm no fan of the AQ bastards either and I don't feel that their intended aim was acheived by 9/11.
They hit the military and economic hearts of the US, and possibly tried to hit the political heart also.
Whether they actually expected their attacks to do lasting damage is unknown, but personally I don't necessarily believe that the terrorists are all that bright. I mean they believe in a god and everlasting paradise for martyrs, so their already off to a bad start in my book.
But they might have thought that hitting the targets they chose would have been the end, or a major blow, to the power of the US.
But we don't know what
precisely were their targets on 9/11, in that we don't know where on the towers they had planned to hit (if indeed they had a target area) and likewise for the pentagon.
'Truthers' believe that because the planes (well, some 'truthers') hit a particular point then that must have been the intended point.
I think it would have been much more flexible and random than that. But 'truthers' lack imagination on this.
If one wants to believe an inside job scenario, one must then believe that the aftermath was so certain that the act was worth it. I don't buy that.
Life is too fickle for such a complex scenario to play out EXACTLY how the perps intended, whether they are AQ or NWO/Illuminati/joos/french
