London Truthers are going to hold a "silent vigil" outside the US embassy on th 11th September to publicise their belief that the US government murdered it's own people. How very tasteful and considerate of them. It's part of "seven days of action" (presumably to tie it in somehow with the July 7th bombings).
The news was posted by a London Truther on an LJ community - her post has had nearly 200 comments so far, and I don't think a single one of them supports her. So I think it will be a rather small gathering.

People like that make me embarrassed to be British. It must be bad enough for normal Americans having their own countrymen support 9/11 CT nonsense - but it beggars belief (to me) that there are BRITISH 9/11 CTists.

My jaw nearly fell through the floor when I found out the (in)famous Stundie is British.

Yup - we do have people like that. Just google for "7/7 truth" and similar phrases. This young woman has parroted all the usual Truther lies - that architects, firefighters, pilots and engineers have declared it was a controlled demolition, WTC7 was 'pulled', BushCo did it to justify the Iraqi war etc - all the while protesting that she's "researched" it. Naturally, she's ignored all the comments where debunking links have been posted.

Heh. I loved this bit of bitterness:

To be honest I'm pretty sick of just about everyone in this community... At least the people who've posted.

It makes me wonder why the truth movement even f****** bother. You guys don't actually deserve all the effort.

Yes, please don't bother.

It was the similarity between post 7/7 and post 9/11 government propaganda that first raised my suspicions about 9/11.

Are you suggesting that the British Government orchestrated 7/7 for propaganda reasons? What would the point be in that? British Troops had already been in Iraq and Afghanistan for years at the time of the 7/7 bombings, so 'another 9/11' to spur the British people into backing action in Iraq and Afghanistan was unnecessary.

The British Government went to 'war' in the Middle East despite massive protests from the public; why would they try and sway public opinion years after the fact?

What about the attempted car-bombing of Glasgow Airport? How does that fit into the scheme?

well, according to Alex Jones 7/7 was designed to help Blair win that years election. The one which took place in May...

Did they hold their vigil? Did anyone actually turn up?
I only ask due to the massive silence in the UK media about their protest, so I wonder if it actually went ahead.

No. It would have been a tad hard, seeing as registered protests outside the US embassy in london are banded since the anti Vietnam War riots there in the late 60s.

Whats that you say? The Truth movement ignorant of the facts of the matter, you could not have a vigil on Grosvenor Sq without permision of the US embassy, y'know the government you blame for 911.

If nothing else it just exposes the sheer ignorance of the facts on the ground about world events. I spent an enjoyable sunday last autumn watching a recreation of the 60s riot in Grosvenor Square, in the square.

I have therefore found it necessary to deny knowledge in order to make room for faith.
Immanuel Kant

That is such a perfect description of the mental process of the Truth Movement.

JihadJane,

What did the 7/7 bombings accomplish other than prove how the Iraqi war (contrary to what Blair had claimed) did NOT make Brits safer?

Could you give you examples over how public opinion in the UK was swayed by the 7/7 bombings?

Could you give me a reason why a protest of a couple of dozen people (if that) deserves national media attention?

Half of whom probably just walked the few blocks from Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, where they hang out most of the time anyway.
