NASHUA, N.H. — A man was charged with second-degree murder after a shooting Saturday night at a country club in Nashua in which one person was killed and several other people were injured, some while trying to flee the chaotic scene.

The Attorney General's Office said Hunter Nadeau, 23, of Nashua, allegedly shot and killed Robert DeCesare, 59, in an attack at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua.

Wedding guests were gathering on the dance floor at a New Hampshire country club Saturday evening when the DJ warned the room to expect some loud noises from a dish-breaking tradition popular at Greek weddings.

But the anticipated sounds of celebration and shattering plates were interrupted by popping noises in the next room, witnesses said.

“It sounded like balloons, because, you know, we’re at a festivity … but then you look around and we didn’t have balloons,” wedding guest Tom Bartelson told CNN affiliate WHDH.

The guests quickly realized the noise was gunshots being fired by a man in the club’s restaurant and began to scatter for safety. Some went out the door or into the kitchen, others took cover under tables, witnesses said.

Fifty-nine-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare was killed and two other adults were injured in the shooting at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, state Attorney General John M. Formella said in a statement early Sunday.

Hunter Nadeau, 23, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in DeCesare’s death, according to Formella’s statement, which said there was no known connection between the two men.

Philadelphia radio legend Pierre Robert passed away at the age of 70 today. He had been a long-time figure on Philly's WMMR station for well over 40 years.

His show had been a throwback in the streaming age as he loved rock music and would play deep cuts on his show and do concert trips and interviews with artists. He started the tradition (at least in Philly) of playing "Alice's Restaurant" several times during his shift on Thanksgiving.

Wow, talk about instant karma. Two motorcyclists got into an accident in Phoenix, start fighting and one of the guys shoots the other dead. Nearby driver sees everything and as the shooter is crossing the street he guns it and sends the killer into the night air. So far no charges against the driver. There are quite graphic videos online, showing the shooter flying; my roommate says he saw video of the shooting itself.

A one-of-a-kind miniature paper-making machine that once was commissioned and operated at the Franklin Institute has been moved to the National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem, PA where it will be restored to working condition.
I actually had helped with trying to restore this thing in the late 90's with my boss and a few others. Sadly both me and my boss departed the museum before the project was finished. My boss now works at the NHIH and will be doing its new restoration.
