Does anyone here know anything about a product called Ligatend? My husband has joint issues similar to tennis elbow (he is a woodworker by trade), and someone recommended this to him. My husband isn't prone to woo, he has avoided chiropracters and didn't get caught up in the glucosamine/chondritin (sp?) craze, but he and I can't find anything reliable on this product.

He is tempted to try it, self-inflicted arthritis hurts, but has no interest in wasting money on nonsense.

Looks appetising...

There's a list of the ingredients here.

They describe it as "a synergistic combination of L-Proline, Glycine and Shark Cartilage", with a fuller list of ingredients further down the page.

Yeah, "synergistic combination" raises some red flags for me. From a bit of googling, it looks like none of the ingredients have had major studies to support them, so I think he will probably pass on it.

That doesn't look like spam to me. Not at all. No sir.

ETA: and now my post looks silly. Oh well.

Be careful...

I just posted a rave review for this product only to discover that several of you chatters are smearing it - fair enough, but not: the product that I take regularly is meant for human beings, not horses, to swallow... Mine is made by BioChem and marketed by CountryLife. It comes in non-repulsive capsules easily swallowed and in no way resembles the cow pies my father's cattle used to decorate the farm with regularly. I don't mind at all that your mistaken identifications of this product are just that - but I do mind that someone who truly needs what LigaTend can do could miss it completely because of your haste... professor or not, the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth, so help you God, can set unwanted and unnecessary aches and pains free...

If it's not an evidence based remedy then chances are no one truly needs it. It certainly raises some red flags, but I'll withhold final judgement until I learn more.

um...what? Do you work for the manufacturer or the distributor?
and are you aware that "so help you God" won't get you very far here? We're mostly atheists after all...
