Best explanation I've seen so far for what we're seeing says that both the Pentagon and the FBI are close to open rebellion and that Comey's hand is being forced:

Assuming the story on LewRockwell is true... My advice would be for congressional representatives to insist on one further condition to the deal:

That Obama do no further harm prior to 1/21/17: Just play golf, no pardons, no sweetheart deals, no meddling in Syria, no wars, no new immigrants, no orchestrated race riots, NOTHING!!!!

Obviously any sort of a pardon for either Clinton should be off the table.

My advice to readers: Assume the story on LewRockwell is valid and let your congressional reps know your concerns:

America has become a Military Dictatorship?
If it was true the FBI and Pentagon are holding the POTUS hostage like this do you rhink that if it became public the citizens would support it?

Sir, it's Colin Powell sir. It must be a code name or something because he was once sooper-important but isn't any more. Anyway, sir, it's like this. In the United Emirates of America it is weally, weally norty if you send emails from the wrong 'pooter and some people get so cross about it that they thkweam and thkweam until they get their way, sir, and they get the norty man send to jail. Anyway, Colin Powell, who was a famous soldier, did this weally weally norty thing of using the wong 'pooter to send his emails fwom and now has to go to jail because of democwasy, which is something only the Amewicans have and no-one else in the world which means if a Fwenchman or and Austwalian sent emails fwom the wong 'pooter he wouldn't have to go to jail like Mr Colin Powell does sir.
