I didn't see any thread for any of these happenings regarding Guantanamo Bay, so here they are all in one shot.
16 Prisoners are released. MSNBC reports they are exhausted, but happy and bearded.
British Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett calls for the closure of the prison saying amongst other things "It is widely argued now that the existence of the camp is as much a radicalising and destabilising influence as it is a safeguard to security." (BBC story)
An inquiry into abuse at Guantanamo has been launched because a marine sergeant narced on some guards who were bragging about mistreating prisoners. (BBC story)
And finally, the Red Cross got access to the 14 prisoners who were recently transferred from secret CIA prisons. (Reuters)
