Apparently when the last day of the current Parliament ends there can never be another Parliament, because of the new "EU constitution".

Strange that I've read the bloody thing and I missed that!

The British have a constitution?

yes. It's even a written constitution, it's just not codified.
It's simply the body of law, written and case, amassed over the years. It's not at all like the US Constitution, which cannot be superseded by a mere law.

Excellent. I've had my secretary diarize the date along with several B/Fs in advance so that the planning and execution of the coup will come off without a hitch. Thanks for the strategic planning heads' up, though, Darat. Much appreciated.

(And yes, yes, the envelope is securely en route, and will be delivered in the usual fashion. There has been a slight change in the pickup protocol, given the sensitivity of the situation, but just tweak the previous encryption by applying +1+c-69/3*1bR to it pursuant to the instructions you received in Communique EUOT620727 and all will be fine.)

Good lord.

So much wrong...so little time!

We don't have fixed terms, so 5th May 2010 is not necessarily the end of parliament. Should Gordon decide to go for it he could call an election at the end of this year and we'd have another 5 years!

Secondly, where has he plucked the MPs wages from?
£240,000?

Their salary is only about £60k, and even the worst expenses scandal of the past couple of months didn't get anywhere near quadrupling that!

Put another way...'e's a nutter!
:)

What does George Clinton and Bootsy Collins have to say about this?

I support the UK Independance Party in EU elections, because I believe that we're forking out billions more than we need to and think that the money could be better spent.

The last think Euroskeptics need however, is an idiot like the man in that video wrecking our credibility.

You'd love the Australian constitution. It's a bizzare mix of the American and British styles, and not only is it damn near unreadable, but it doesn't make much sense and tells you almost nothing useful at all. The Prime Minister isn't even mentioned, and the reader would be forgiven for thinking New Zealand a state.:boggled:
