The fun thing is they use a mix of Navy active duty and Reservists to assemble the evidence kits, I know a guy who got recalled to do this for other detainees. They are tasked to find anything positive they can for the guy being charged, which is often a daunting task, especially with a no-name. Considering all the interest on this guy, its probably going to be a big Joint team doing the task.

ETA: The defense teams actually work out of DC and just travel to Gitmo for the trial or more evidence gathering.

NYC is what Obama wanted, plus the ACLU is raising a stink. No dice for either, politics being as it is.

ETA: they probably could film it, and I don't think they have to by law.

I can understand them not wanting to have it in NYC. Not only would it be a media circus of monumental proportions but there would be some very real security concerns for the greater New York area.

So are the Truthers going to put their money where their mouth is? According to them if they are MIHOP, KSM is an innocent man. THIS is the "New Investigation" opportunity for them. Where's the fire to exhonerate him? Any peep out of them over this?

The new investigation would have to bring in every other "suspect" that the TM believe are responsible for the attacks: Ace Elevators, Controlled Demolition Inc, the FBI, CIA, ISI, US military, BBC, CNN, James Millette, Atta's coke-whore girlfriend, everyone in the same classes as the hijackers, every poster on JREF that started posting after Loose Change came out...the United 23 "hijackers"...Jesus?

I suspect KSM was in the US months before 911, meeting with the hijackers and at times calling meetings in Las Vegas.

There would be no major security concerns if KSM was tried in NYC. Do you really think there are AQ operatives running around the US today?
