Kreskin on Canadian TV

I'm sitting here in a hotel in Newfoundland, and this moron Kreskin is being interviewed on some Canadian channel and spouting all kinds of BS. The show is called "The Hour, Live" and the channel is "CBNews world". Someone must have this in their Tivo--I'm tuning back to catch up on the Tour De France :-)

That looks like it... I tuned out and came back and he was doing some stupid hypnosis stuff. After that, the host came back on and said, "Whatever it is, it works!" Idiot.
 
A few nights ago I stumbled upon an infomercial for some book he has out now about the "power of the mind" or some such.

It was hard to tell from the commercial if it was full-blown woo, or just about the benefits of thinking positively, but it was definitely letting the viewer infer that there was something supernatual involved.
 
Wow - is he still working? Leonard Nimoy tells the story of how this excited person came up to him for an autograph, and turned to their friend and said "Look who it is .... it's Kreskin!!" So Nimoy signed "Kreskin". This was right back in the 60s when Nimoy had just become famous himself, you understand.
 
Hell, I remember watching Kreskin when I was a little, bitty kid. I thought he was a legitimate mentalist. Has he always favored the woo side of the force or did he convert at some point?

Ah, yes, The Hour hosted by former MuchMusic VJ George Stroumboulopoulos. For the life of me I still can't figure out how a guy whose main prior experience was being a host on MuchMusic gets his own current affairs/news/talk type of program on CBC.

Good panel for the youth demographic?
 
I haven't watched the video in question yet, but I'm a little unclear right now as to where he stands on hypnosis. I remember some years back that he had his own Million Dollar Challenge, where he claimed that he could do the same thing, manipulating audience members, as any other mentalist, without any kind of hypnotic induction. In other words, he was demonstrating that hypnosis wasn't any kind of "special state". Seems all right to me. Last time I looked at his website, though, there was no mention of this challenge.

I'll watch the video now.
