I am still not sure how it happened but my World of Warcraft account was comprimised by a keylogger. No, I do NOT buy gold, and I do not share my login information with anyone else.

That said, what should I use to find and remove the keylogger/spyware? I have AVG free as my security system(good or bad?), I have used hijackthis and Spybot Search and Destroy and they all have come up clean. Is it time to wipe and reinstall windoze XP or upgrade to windoze 7? Buying a Mac is not going to happen either. :D

Malware Bytes, Superantispyware, Combofix. Usually do the trick, depending on the severity of the infection you might need to run one or more in safe mode.

Dang.
I knew free porn was too good to be true. :D

You know how it goes: click on one picture, it sends you to a different site with pictures, you click on another picture, it sends you to another site etc. Before long you'll have keyloggers, trojans, and several subscriptions to the genital enhancement daily newsletter.

Get the authenticator, use OpenDNS with their safe surf (blocks malware urls), install the free MS Security Essentials and keep your PC updated. BTW, you will have to reformat and re-install your OS to be sure you're clean after being infected.

99% of the time its because you opened an email you thought was legit :) Move your wow battle.net account to gmail since they will warn you if links don't match or it just goes right to spam.

Also, windows 7 is less risk prone than vista/xp when it comes to keyloggers.

finally, use Opera, Firefox or Chrome for browsing.
