Well, my girlfriend's mother just bought Kevin Trudeau's book. I gave it a quick one-over (read the summary, and was already feeling that irking feeling) and thought... "WOW, this guy really seems to hate 'big pharma'". The book looks like standard conspiracy-theory stuff.

So I go on google and search Kevin Trudeau, to see how many websites are actually promoting this book...

I don't even go past the first page. It's just too funny. The first links are:

Read the Amazon reviews, the best part is that his book does not contain any cures! Its just a big rant against the FTC, you have to subscribe to his website to actually see the cures.

I dont know how anybody can belive that millions of people are in on a huge conspiracy to keep the cures for cancer, HIV, and everything else from us.

Does she realize how big such a conspiracy would have to be?

I am utterly amazed at how people can think big beurocratic bungling organizations could ever hope to pull off a conspiracy of anything. RFK jr. said "Big Pharma" on the daily show and I was pissed off that Jon Stewart didn't call him on it.

People eat this sh#t up. Conspiracies are cool...even though they aren't proven in any way, shape or form.

I think Trudeau's book has you buying a membership to his online site to find out the "real secrets". His money making scheme is so transparent I don't understand how anyone falls for it...he's such a hypocrite...a blatant hypocritical pot calling the kettle black even though the kettle is nowhere near like him!

I was so disgusted I had to turn off the television.

He will be if he keeps showing up in infomercials when he was banned.

He was banned for the Coral Calsium infomercials. This "bans him from appearing in, producing, or disseminating future infomercials that advertise any type of product, service, or program to the public, except for truthful infomercials for informational publications. In addition, Trudeau cannot make disease or health benefits claims for any type of product, service, or program in any advertising, including print, radio, Internet, television, and direct mail solicitations, regardless of the format and duration. "

He now offers a book. He claims that there are cures, but tries not to mention any of them specificly. I guess that's why there are no cures in the book, either...

It seems like there's a loophole, where he can send people e-mail with cures as long as he doesn't make any claims in the e-mail... Maybe that's what people are getting if they sign up...

I find myself considering how much discomfort I could subject this creep to if I met him, without getting in trouble with the police.

This guy is disgusting. His informercial claims outright that there is a conspiracy to keep is sick and or in poor health (is that redundant?). In any event his claims are out of this world. For example Multiple Sclorisis is caused from a food aditive.

When I first saw this guy a decade ago hawking "super memory" or some such I actually thought he seemed an affable guy. I would now like seriously to see him do hard time. It would not surprise me if someone died as a result of listening to his advice.

Whatever good things there are in America we suck when it comes to letting people like Keving get away with something so obviously harmful and let him make money at it to boot.

There are several loopholes for these quacks like Trudeau to squeeze thru, the FTC is a big one.

Another huge loophole is the FDA regulation of medical devices.

I propose a JREF project. Lets design our "cancer machine." What we will do is build a device with some fancy digital readouts, and a few electrodes that you place on your skin. We'll then market it as a device that cures cancer and get FDA approval.

Thats right I said FDA APPROVAL. It turns out that the FDA regulations for medical devices consists of one sentence:

1) All devices that are to be marketed as medical instruments shall be judged on the basis of patient safety, with no regard to efficacy or treatment of any condition or disease.

Basically what that means is that as long as your machine doesnt cause injury to patients, you can market it any way you want to. Quite literally you could have an empty box with some flashing lights on it and get FDA approval for a "cancer machine." You could then go on TV and publicly proclaim that you have designed the first FDA APPROVED machine that cures cancer.

What a joke of a system we have.

Well...if you scroll through the Amazon reviews, one thoughtful reviewer provided Mr. Trudeau's home address and phone numbers. I wouldn't advocate violence against this douchebag, but he's earned at least a few prank calls at 3:00 AM. Maybe even a flaming pile of dog crap on his doorstep (assuming the address info is correct).

Mega memory

I bought mega memory years ago. I'm so ashamed. I have since concluded that there is nothing wrong with my memory, it's just that most of the time I don't care enough to bother with the effort of committing something to memory in the first place.
