Here's hoping most people get the thread title reference
Okay so I'm in work today, and I get my hands on something interesting. It's the manuscript of a yet to published novel. Because it's not published you'll pardon if I go light on the details (ie how I got it, who wrote it etc...)
The book is supposed to be fiction about peak oil. Essentially a series of terrorist attacks cripple oil production and shipping lanes, bringing oil production to a grinding halt overnight. The British prime minister badly misjudges national sentiment, when he brings in emergency powers. Panic ensures.
The book's strongest parts are were it goes into detail at the rapid breakdown of social order, as powercuts and travel restrictions quickly kick in, mob mentality, the desperate clamour for basic essentials, people trying to survive. Thats actually well written and interesting. But I've always been a sucker for things like "survivors" and "threads"
But then we hit 24 carat woo. See the terrorist attacks that spark all this, weren't Al Qaeda, they were carried out by a secret elite. This small cabal have been around for centuries. They backed Hitler because they despised communism (the rise of people power) they knew peak oil was coming, and they knew population grow was unsustainable, so they arranged all this to cut global population by 2/3s. It's been planning for eight years, and the cataylist was their plan for 911. It goes into a murdered fireman "who saw demolition charges in the rubble of ground zero". I have to believe the author is a troofer.
If this thing gets published Alex Jones should sue for plagarism!
