The ADL and various Jewish community groups are now after the embattled BYU Prof.

Either Jones holds sincere beliefs that the banking system as it is, is in need of reform (putting that as diplomatically as possible), or he's been hanging out with Uncle Fetzer too much.

FYI: The remarks the author mistakenly attributes to Jones wherein he allegedly promotes the violent overthrow of the US government were actually made by James Fetzer.

This is only tangentially relevant, but this quote jumped out:

Jones said his reference to international banking might have been influenced by Cleon Skousen, a former BYU instructor and author who claimed international bankers were behind the rise of communism and fascism. Jones shared his research on 9/11 at Skousen's home in the fall of 2005 before Skousen died.

I've never heard this before, but it reminds of reports I read a few years back (in the mainstream media) that almost all of Russia's post-communism kleptocrat billionaires are jewish or part jewish, even though "jewish or part-jewish" describes only a tiny portion of Russia's population.

Is there a good non-CT explanation for how that happened? I understand that somehow a goup largely consisting of harvard political science and economics professors were invited to post-soviet russia to help structure the privatization of Russia's resources and industries. They were sold in a shady, fixed auction to politically connected insiders. Somehow within a few years this ended up with Russia having 30 billionaires, about 29 of whom were jewish or part jewish.

Point of curiosity, how exactly did this happen?

I'm open to theories that jewish (and part-jewish) elites have been in a quasi-friendly competition with wasp elites for world power, and on the jewish side this has involved both communism and forays in market capitalism. Sort of a tag team of Josef Stalin (Soviet Union) and Sidney Weinberg (Goldman Sachs). After all, jewish intellectual elites seem to have been well-represented in communist leadership both in the Soviet Union and in America. But at the same time well-represented on Wall Street and in corporate law firms. But, I'm not sure how jewish elites saw each other across the capitalist/communist divide. Did they (jewish capitalists vs. jewish communists) see each other as team mates working to advance mutual interests from the left and the right? Or did ideology trump ethnicity and did they see each other as enemies/competitors first? I'm not sure, and I think evidence points in multiple directions.

On the one hand, there's the seemlessness with which trotskyites like Irving Kristol became capitalist evangelists. On the other hand, communism seemed to do very little for the generations of jew living in the soviet union under communism.

A jewish intellectual who grew up, lived in the soviet union, and died without enjoying many of the amenities of a jewish intellectual doing the same in the Upper West Side would be giving up a lot for folks he essentially had no contact with -for what? For some russian jewish billionaires 30 years later?

The whole thing seems a bit weird and messy to me. So how exactly did almost all of those instant russian billionaires end up either jewish or part jewish?
