I find this interesting but I'm pretty skeptical. It has the smell of revisionism and sensationalism. Somebody makes a documentary movie and is probably overstating Lennon's politics to get publicity. If I had to make a guess, and that's all it would be, a guess, is that John's politics went from "radical" to more centrist in his older age (hey, it happens to a lot of us as we get older) and he probably did have some admiration for Ronald Regan mostly because he met him personally. Other than that, I think the film maker could be overstating his knowledge of John Lennon's politics.
He is still revered around the world as a peace-loving working class hero.
But by the time he died, John Lennon was a closet conservative embarrassed by his radical past, according to his former personal assistant.
